The cabins were designed with a smaller footprint with comfort being paramount. If you have a larger group may we suggest cabin #2, our larger of the 3 cabins we rent OR alternatively renting more cabins to suit your group size.
None of our log cabins are equipped with air conditioners. We designed the cabins with a ceiling fan and all windows and main door have screens. We also provide portable fans in each unit. Fireplaces are turned off in mid-June to mid-September.
At times open-air fire restrictions are in effect - we shall inform you of this if applicable in the course of your stay.
**All log cabins are non-smoking/non-vaping units. This includes the front porch areas and the upper deck of Cabin #2.
**DRUG-FREE ZONE: We strongly urge any cannibis users to go for a walk off of Resort property to use those products away from our kids and other registered guests. This is VERY important as we have a zero tolerance rule in effect year-round for this!
Signage of this property being drug-free is present in each cabin to serve as an added reminder.
Bayside Resort was officially opened for business in mid-February 2011. We are a small family-owned business.
Bayside Resort consists of three (3) waterfront log cabins, steps away from the water’s edge. All cabins are winterized and available for rent all year round.
Cabin #3 is where you'll check in upon arrival. It's our house.
Due to COVID we remind everyone to be respectful of signage posted in reminding guests to wear a mask and social distance.
NO ENTRY is permitted into our house/ the office by incoming guests. We are following recommended social distance measures.
No tours are being provided of our resort property offerings due to COVID-19 safety measures.
- CHECK-IN TIME: 4:00pm. If you plan on arriving before this time we do not permit early check-in's.
- And/or if you planned on arriving on site after dark please let us know. We usually call to let you know its ready!
- CHECK-OUT TIME: 10:30am.
NOTE: Due to extra cleaning procedures we are undertaking because of COVID safety measures we have adjusted our Check-out time to be a half hour earlier for the 2021 peak season. And we thank you in advance of being respectful of this plus the fact that we simply CAN NOT permit early check-in's any longer. We appreciate your understanding moving forward as we all get used to a new norm.
On site, you will have full access to our private beach, tiered waterfront decks with plenty of Adirondack chairs & additional bench seating options. There is a (4-person) paddle boat for you to use as you please and two (2) canoes. Life vests provided.
A boat launch is located closeby to Bayside Resort and boat docking is available at the resort.
Nearby, the Rainbow Ridge Golf Course offers an 18-hole challenge, if you're up to it. The Rainbow Ridge offers a full service Club House Restaurant which is open to the public. There are actually several golf courses to choose from on Manitoulin Island. Our closest one also offers glow-ball golfing opportunities at select times of the year, which provides even more of a challenge after dusk for golfing enthusiasts.
During the winter months, local roads and our laneway are well maintained. If you happen to be here between late January and the end of March, you'll probably want to go ice fishing. Bring your auger and fishing equipment as we do not rent those recreational supplies. For a number of years, Bayside Resort has hosted the "Manitoulin Ice Showdown", an annual Ice Fishing Derby and fun for the whole family. The event is a joint venture of Wikwemikong Tourism and The Manitoulin Expositor and has been hosted by TV's Bob Izumi and Italo Labignon. In fact, Bayside Resort has been featured in several episodes of the popular "Canadian Sport Fishing" TV show. If you'd rather explore the island, consider booking an ATV Excursion or rent a pair of skis or snowshoes.
Whether you visit Manitoulin Island for leisure or business, we aim to make your accommodations and stay at Bayside Resort unforgettable.
There are two different styles to choose from, one cabin type was designed to be larger than the other two we offer for rent year-round. Cabins #1 and Cabin #4 are both smaller in size and quite similar in their design...
Log Cabins #1 and #4 are our 1 Bedroom style plus an upper loft that is equipped to sleep up to 4 guests max.
These two cabins are very similar in that they both feature a main floor master bedroom with a queen-sized bed and a 3-piece ensuite washroom. The full kitchen features a 4-element gas range (no oven), a double (stone) sink and butcher block countertops. A gas fireplace in living room ensures your comfort in cooler weather.
A ladder leads to the upper loft, with two (2) twin sized beds. Please note that children are recommended to be at least 10 years of age to be up in the loft and supervision is required to ensure their safety during your stay.
These style of log cabins were the first to be constructed on our waterfront property. They were carefully constructed of local lumber using dovetail cedar (square) logs.
Cabin Rental Rates: (#1 or #4)
- $120.00 per night based on either single or double occupancy
- $135.00 per night for a group of 3 guests
- $150.00 per night for a group of 4 guests (MAX)
Our deluxe log cabin #2 is our largest rental cabin featuring 3 bedrooms. It is equipped to sleep up to 6 guests max.
This deluxe pine log cabin differs from the other cabin types as it is our larger-sized cabin rental option. It features a split log staircase (so no ladder) and is heated using in-floor heating (so no fireplace).
On the mainfloor the open concept kitchen features thick butcher block countertops, a gas range, large rustic harvest dining table with seating for 6, plenty of lighting and many other upgraded features.
Upstairs are 3 seperate bedrooms equipped with a total of 4 beds (1 Queen, 1 Double and 2 Twins). The front bedroom (large open loft style) leads to a covered balcony with glass railing overlooking Manitowaning Bay.
The logs for Cabin #2 were sourced from local cedar and pine. It was constructed in our second phase of the resort build, completed for rent in 2012. Its the one we tend to recommend for larger groups (*6 Maximum capacity limit).
Cabin #2 Rental Rates:
- $150.00 per night for single or double occupancy
- $175.00 per night for a group of 3 guests
- $190.00 per night for a group of 4-5 guests
- $205.00 per night for a group of 6 guests (MAX).
